Postgres Manager lets you create PostgreSQL databases and users, for applications that need PostgreSQL instead of MySQL (for example many Django, Ruby on Rails or Node.js projects).
Where to find it: Databases → Postgres Manager.
Note: PostgreSQL must be installed on the server by your hosting provider. If you see PostgreSQL Not available or PostgreSQL it is not runnning on this server, contact your provider.
The boxes at the top show how many PostgreSQL databases you have compared with your package limit.
Create a database
- Click Add new database.
- Enter the Database name. The panel shows the full name the database will get (Database name will be set as …) — it starts with your account name.
- Click Save.
Create a user and give access
- In the Database List, click Add user to this database next to the database.
- Enter a Username and a New password (twice), or generate a password with the key button.
- Choose the User role:
• ReadWrite — the user can read and change data. Use this for your application.
• ReadOnly — the user can only read data, for example for reporting tools. - Click Save.
Use Manage user to change a user’s password or role, and Delete user to remove it. Delete database removes the database and all its data permanently.
