Installation and web server
Problem
Cause and solution
HTTP 500 “writeable by group”
suPHP refuses PHP files that the group can write. Run find /home/user/billing -perm /022 -exec chmod go-w {} +.
HTTP 403 on every page (CWP)
public_html must be user:nobody with mode 750, so Apache can read .htaccess.
ionCube Loader needed
Install the ionCube loader for the PHP version of the domain. On CWP: PHP-FPM Selector, or a rebuild with ionCube.
PHP 8.2 or newer required
Switch the domain to PHP 8.2+: /scripts/cwp_php domain set <domain> fpm 8.3 on CWP.
Pages work, but every link gives 404
mod_rewrite is off (Apache), or the nginx try_files rule is missing.
Attachments larger than 2 MB fail
Raise upload_max_filesize and post_max_size.
Problem
Cause and solution
A staff member is logged out right after logging in
The IP changes between requests: a proxy that is not in trusted_proxies, or nginx in front of Apache on the same server (add the server IP).
Lost the 2FA app
php bin/console admin:reset-2fa <username>
Locked out by the admin IP allowlist
Add your IP to admin_ip_allow in config.php.
The captcha blocks every login
php bin/console captcha:off
Forgot the admin path
It is admin_path in config/config.php.
Cron and automation
Problem
Cause and solution
The dashboard says the cron has not run
Check the crontab of the account user, and that the cron uses a PHP 8.2+ CLI with ionCube. Run php bin/console cron by hand to see the error.
No renewal invoices
Automation enabled is off, or the services have no next due date. Check with php bin/console billing:preview.
Mass e-mails don’t go out
The massmail:send cron (every minute) is missing.
License
Problem
Cause and solution
The admin area shows only the license page
The trial ended or the license is not active. Enter or renew the key under License and version. Your clients are not affected.
The license is registered for …, not …
The host name of app_url changed. Reissue the license in your client area, then click Check now.
The license server could not be reached for 15 days
Allow outgoing HTTPS to support.centos-webpanel.com. The billing worked 15 days on the last answer; it continues as soon as the server is reached again.
