This page is for server administrators: how to give a customer reseller rights.
Note: The Reseller module needs a CWP Pro license.
Step 1: Create a reseller package
- In the CWP admin panel open Packages → Packages and add a new package.
- Set the total limits the reseller may distribute among their customers: disk quota, bandwidth, FTP and email accounts, databases, domains and hourly email limit.
- Tick Reseller and set the number of Accounts — the maximum number of customer accounts the reseller may create.
- Save the package.
Reseller packages are marked (RESELLER) in package lists.
Step 2: Create the reseller account
- Open User Accounts → New Account.
- Enter the domain, username, password and email of the reseller as for any account.
- Choose the reseller package.
- Create the account.
The reseller now sees the Reseller menu in their user panel. Send them the panel address (https://your-server:2083) and their login.
Packages created later by the reseller appear in the admin panel as resellername_packagename; accounts created by the reseller show the reseller as their owner.
Step 3: Optional extras
- Private nameservers: give the reseller the server IP addresses to use for their glue records (see White-label checklist).
- API for the reseller’s billing system: the reseller can create API keys themselves in Reseller → Api Manager. A key you create in the admin API Manager with the reseller as Owner is likewise limited to that reseller’s customers and packages. See Reseller API.
- Features: CWP Pro modules and server software (Node.js, MongoDB, PostgreSQL…) must be installed and licensed on the server for resellers to offer them.
